KOr10 was commissioned to reimagine the mechanical penthouse atop the United Unions headquarters, transforming it into a vibrant rooftop destination that blends conferencing, event space, with panoramic views of Washington, D.C. The design introduces a suite of amenities—a conference center, bar, grill, pre-function lounge, and a landscaped deck overlooking the National Mall and Rawlins Park. At the heart of the concept is a seamless indoor-outdoor experience: operable exterior walls fold open, allowing flexible combinations that connect all interior spaces to the deck. Two modular meeting rooms accommodate a range of events—from executive sessions to intimate celebrations. This rooftop addition is a retreat within the building itself, that captivates occupants with sweeping views and immersive multi-functional event space.
