Live Work Conversion
2009
Washington DC, US
An old defunct printing plant and warehouse built before 1924 in Northeast Washington, DC that was reimagined converted into live work lofts for a local consortium led by a not-for-profit developer and modernized into a vibrant creative hub featuring light filled art studios, flexible maker and workshop spaces, and adaptable warehousing or community activities. Our concept preserved the building’s industrial character while introducing contemporary elements, systems, improved daylighting, and spatial flexibility. The warehouse exterior was left intact.
