KOr.10 Architecture has been selected as consulting architect for a composition of 3 buildings by one of Africa's most famous design firms. The Foreign Ministry Offices is one of the many projects that extend the new Marginale de Luanda, a 3.1 km promenade along the bay. Our mission was to optimize the space program and traffic flow while ensuring the safety of people and access standards, in accordance with the requirements of the IBC 2018 code. The circulation, entry pavilions, café, consulate, interior offices, auditorium, structural system, exit compliance, plumbing risers, HVAC, vertical transportation, façade design, davits, low voltage/high tension electrical and building data center were redesigned. Energy performance was studied through modelling and the analysis of sunlight, where improvements to the façade were proposed to solve the heat gain problems in relation to orientation and internal load dominance. Our scope included full schematics and design development drawings, including all design deliverables.
